The Center for Global Initiatives hosts and co-sponsors global events and conferences across campus and in our community. Of note are our recurring events that take place throughout the year, Global Project Showcase and International Coffee Hour.

Global Project Showcase

Want to travel next summer? Looking to fund your global project? Enjoy a showcase of students’ research, experiences and travel stories from a variety of fields and global destinations.
Learn more about past international summer projects the Center for Global Initiatives has funded from the students themselves. Dinner will be provided.
This showcase features:
- Kendrel Cabarrus– a sophomore English major on the pre-med track who participated in a medical fellowship program in Uruguay this past summer and received funding through the Carolina Global Initiative Award
- Jacob Bell– a senior History major who received a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship to study Russian over the summer
- Shannon Grant– a sophomore Biology major who participated in the Global Take Off: Puerto Rico program last winter
