About

Katie manages data, communications, and supports program evaluation at the Center. She is a North Carolina native who earned two bachelors and a Masters in Public Administration from UNC. While at UNC, she spent a summer abroad in Buenos Aires, worked on several campus publications and volunteered in the local community with Burmese refugees. After graduating, Katie supported international teachers through a K-5 language immersion program. She then worked as a refugee resettlement case specialist in Durham serving primarily Bhutanese, Somali, Congolese, Burmese, Sudanese, and Iraqi families as they transitioned to life in the United States. Since completing her graduate studies, Katie most recently worked with an education non-profit, helping administrators and teachers support and empower students in high-need schools.

The upper quad has always been one of my favorite spaces on campus. I love the historic buildings, the Old Well, the huge trees, and it’s the home of my favorite undergrad study spot, Graham Memorial.”
