About
Although a native of Washington, DC, Robert Anderson grew up in North Carolina, and returned to settle here after studying and working in Austin, Texas, Washington, DC, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He earned his Ph.D. in Luso-Brazilian Language and Literature from UNC’s Department of Romance Languages, and also completed a Master’s degree in the Foreign Language Education Center, School of Education, University of Texas at Austin. He has forty years of post-baccalaureate experience in foreign language education, most of that in Portuguese instruction, and has developed and taught a wide range of courses on Portuguese language and the Lusophone world. His other teaching areas include globalization, experience abroad, and Indian literature. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, and traveling.
