UNC students, faculty, alumni and staff are invited to submit up to three photos representing any world region as a part of the annual Carolina Global Photo Competition. There is no restriction on the period in which the photograph was taken, and travel need not have been connected to a program at UNC. Information Session: Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad

Find out more »Carolina Global Initiative Award Deadline
The Carolina Global Initiative Award provides funding to students to complete a global opportunity during the summer, in the U.S. or abroad. Supported by an endowment from the C.V. Starr Foundation, the Lori Lewis Schipper International Internship Fund, the Stephens International Internship Fund and private gifts to the Chancellor’s Global Education Fund, awards are typically made from $1,500 to $6,000 each, but higher amounts will be considered. The Vimy Global Team Award was inspired by the adventures and pioneering spirit of UNC alumnus Peter McMillan ’81. This award is given annually to one interdisciplinary team of students (Vimy scholars) working collaboratively to pursue research or service projects outside the United States. The Pre-Dissertation Exploration Award helps get Ph.D. candidates into the field to do preliminary explorations of potential research materials/sites in preparation for writing a dissertation proposal.
