The Center for Global Initiatives hosts and co-sponsors global events and conferences across campus and in our community. Of note are our recurring events that take place throughout the year, Global Project Showcase and International Coffee Hour.

Global Projects Showcase Lunch

Want to travel next summer? Looking to fund your global project?
Enjoy a showcase of students’ research, experiences and travel stories from a variety of fields and global destinations. Learn more about past international summer projects the Center for Global Initiatives has funded from the students themselves. Lunch will be provided.
This showcase will feature the following speaker:
– Jalyn McNeal, senior Global Studies major, Passport to Go! awardee and Foreign Language and Area Studies Award recipient who studied Arabic in Morocco and will be joining the Peace Corps this summer!
– Dana Suleiman, first-year Biology major, 2016 Global Takeoff: Puerto Rico and Passport to Go! recipient! who traveled to Puerto Rico over winter break for a cultural immersive experience focused food sustainability and food autonomy
– Kendell Silveira, senior Nursing major, 2016 Carolina Global Initiative Award recipient who traveled to Sri Lanka to learn Ayurveda wellness practices and experience providing healthcare in a developing nation
