Entertainment Venues as Network Actors in Roman Macedonia and Thrace
Through the Fulbright award, Matther will travel to Bulgaria to analyze how and why Roman popular entertainment stuctures (theaters, stadiums, odea, amphitheaters) in the provinces of Macedonia and Thrace shaped forms of neighboring urban spaces and structures and of the artifacts of urban life. His study looks at the parts of Macedonia and Thrace that are now Bulgaria, Greece and the Republic of Macedonia.
