Global Take Off: Puerto Rico

2016

Global Take Off Puerto Rico is a fully funded, interactive, five-day, faculty-led experience held after final exams are over in December. In collaboration with the Institute for the Study of the Americas and the Sonja H. Stone Center for Black Culture and History, the 2016 program included the following components:

  • Fully funded trip to Puerto Rico to participate in an interactive educational experience, including discussions with Puerto Rican students and community members and tours of local sites and attractions;
  • Collaborative learning with both UNC and University of Puerto Rico faculty and staff; and
  • Career and personal development and networking opportunities.

The 2016 program theme was food sustainability and autonomy.
