Generating Albanian Future: Collective Memory Developed Around Communist Sites of Memory
For this ethnographic project, Kailey will work with youth born after the fall of the communist regime in Albania. She will study how they navigate the economic precarity produced by the post-socialist transformation to create new futures for themselves involving collective memories around communist sites. Kailey will conduct this study in the capital city Tirana and Shkodra, a site of resistance during the former regime.
