Azoria Summer Fieldwork Volunteer Program
Tori Williams will travel to the island of Crete to volunteer through the Azoria Project, conducted by the Department of Classics at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Iowa State University and The American School of Classical Studies at Athens. This fieldwork opportunity will allow her to actively participate in an excavation of Early Iron Age-Archaic site of Azoria. The goal of this program is to investigate the dynamics of urbanization and sociopolitical changes at the site and improve the understanding of the chronology of the site. Furthermore, she will be able to engage in discussions about the region and site history, attend lectures by archeological specialist and travel on site tours.
