Islamic Networks Across the Indian Ocean
This faculty working group will map Islamic intellectual exchanges and networks that spanned the Indian Ocean (c. 1800-1950). Faculty members and invited speakers will trace the movement of intellectuals, letters, texts and ideas across the Indian Ocean with an aim of developing a major digital record/map of Islamic intellectual networks and connections. The development of this digital map will be a major project that will engage scholars from across the globe.
