Project Title Bridging Language Gaps: Strengthening Arabic Skills for Effective Communication with New Communities

Summary

Alexis Strang will travel to Morocco to study Arabic at the Arabic Language Institute in Fez. She will focus on developing effective communication skills in the Moroccan and formal dialects. Upon returning to UNC, she intends to utilize her skills to tutor students studying Arabic, as well as leverage her skills in future careers providing educational opportunities in SWANA (Southwest Asian and North Africa) and publishing ethnographic research.
