Dialect and linguistic identification of social media sources
Social Media are fast becoming the privileged mode of interaction in many communities, including especially diaspora communities. This has produced an enormous amount of sociolinguistically relevant data in order to understand, for example, maintenance/attrition patterns of immigrant languages. This project aims to develop computational tools to mine web and social media data to support dialectological and sociolinguistic analysis.
