Optimal Treatment of Moderate Malnutrition in Children in Sierra Leone

Malnutrition underlies 40% of child deaths in Sierra Leone. I will conduct a clinical effectiveness study of two supplementary foods used to treat moderately malnourished children among 10 clinics in the Eastern Province. I will examine recovery outcomes, treatment acceptability, and relapse into malnutrition between these supplementary foods, in order to discern optimal treatment of child malnutrition in Sierra Leone and build evidence globally.
