Gender, Nationalism, and Rural Imagination in Bohemian Village Operas
Chris Bowen will go to Prague in the Czech Republic to begin preliminary research for his dissertation proposal. His research will focus on constructions of gender, nationalism, and rural life in the "village operas" of late-19th and early-20th century Czech composers.
