Kathryn will implement an academic year FLAS at UNC for the study of Hindi-Urdu. Her research will focus on community-based approaches to health and social change, particularly in participatory approaches that value the knowledge and experiences of local people. She is especially committed to studying issues such as maternal and child health, access to water and land, trafficking, and HIV/AIDS.
