Data-at-Risk: A Global Inventory for Endangered Scientific Research Data

The Data-at-Risk Inventory (DARi) is being developed as a centralized, global inventory documenting fragile scientific research data that is at risk of being lost from the pool of knowledge. UNC School of Information and Library Science (SILS) students will (1.) inventory research data, and (2.) advance knowledge about data documentation and use by engaging with scientists around the world. This initiative was launched via a partnership involving the International Council for Science, Committee on Data for Science and Technology, Data at Risk Task Group (ISC/CODATA/DARTG); the SILS Metadata Research Center; and UNC's ibiblio.
