Project Title Improving maternal health outcomes in Malawi

Summary

Epidemiology doctoral student, Angie Bengtson, will travel to Lilongwe, Malawi during the summer to collaborate with physicians and researchers from UNC Project in Malawi and UNC's OB/GYN department working at Bwaila Maternity Hospital. She will help to develop data collection systems for major obstetric events at the hospital and contribute to the development of a research program aimed at improving maternal health outcomes.
